I'm so glad I was able to arrange an off-season visit by appointment! The staff was very welcoming and gracious. It's a small exhibit, but unique and well done.

Interesting little museum; it doesn't take long to go through.

Although the fur industry was an important part of the PEI economy during that time period but I am glad to see enlightenment has come about since.

The basket weaving exhibit was informative with some beautiful examples presented. There was also a good display on green energy.

Although im not a fan of digital presentations, the exhibits on display were overall good. However, I feel that filling out the exhibit space could only improve the museum experience.

Entry was done-as-you-wish; I gave a donation.

The place is closed during the long Labour day weekend, I would have loved to see this place, alas on the few days travelers can actually visit... it's locked. Something to think about

Really informative museum about the fox trade. Staff was extremely outgoing friendly and knowledgeable. Generally only open July and August Monday to Saturday.

This is a little gem of a museum if you enjoy learning local history of an area when you are visiting. Our experience was really special because of the pleasant and very knowledgeable staff person, Eithne, who took the time to explain how to access the interactive information exhibits, and point out the special features of the museum so we could get the most out of our visit. Eithne also gave us many recommendations on other historical sites in Summerside and other sites to visit on the Island - it was delightful to see someone who was so proud of all her Island had to offer. She really embodied the great reputation the Islanders have for kindness and helpfulness - Thanks Eithne!

Great museum on the local history, although the computer screen format makes group visits difficult when members have different reading speeds. Eithne was great at explaining where to go and made us all feel very welcome!

It’s a small museum with a bit of history about the military, the Mikmaq people, and PEI’s work towards sustainability. There’s also a small fox museum upstairs. Entrance is by donation. Most of the displays are digital which I didn’t enjoy, but I guess that’s how they can fit so much information into a small place. Two of the digital displays didn’t work. Staff is friendly but she’s talking with other guests so I didn’t bother asking her to reset the displays.
