I want to share some important feedback regarding the process of scheduling visitors to the foodbank. The people who come to foodbanks are often in very difficult situations, facing food insecurity and genuine need. When these individuals call multiple times and don’t get a response, or feel that their requests for food assistance are ignored or denied without clear explanation, it adds to their stress and hardship.

It is crucial to remember that no one has the right to stop someone from seeking help at other foodbanks. If one foodbank is unable to assist a person at a given time, they should be encouraged kindly and respectfully to seek help elsewhere. The role of scheduling staff is to facilitate access to food, not to police or judge those in need.

Volunteers at foodbanks generally work very hard and with compassion, which is appreciated. However, it is important that communication remains kind and non-judgmental. Asking or reprimanding someone for going to a different foodbank can come across as rude or aggressive, and this can deter people from seeking the help they urgently need.

The name “Foodbank” speaks for itself: it is a place for food assistance for those in need, without conditions or obligations. The process should never make the needy feel less worthy or restricted in their access to food.

If there are scheduling limits or policies, these should be clearly explained in a supportive manner. If the foodbank cannot provide assistance, the person should be encouraged to seek support elsewhere, without blame or confrontation.

Thank you for understanding the importance of treating every visitor with dignity, respect, and kindness. The goal is to ensure that food reaches those who need it, and that no one is made to feel unwelcome or judged while seeking help.

the staff are wonderful caring people but the food is obviously not being properly devided equally. I saw a person with butter and meet. I didn't get any kind of protein. not even a high protein cereal. not eggs. nothing but rotted fruit an vegetables. that an they discriminate against single people a clearly cater to families. thanks to this attitude I'm going to be starving and getting kicked off the couch I'm sleeping on. thanks for letting me starve and freeze
