I've lived in Niverville since April 1st. And I go to MCC once or twice a week. I always find great stuff.
The prices are a bit high,
but other than that. It's great.
The staff are very friendly.

I have noticed over the last few months this store going from a thrift store that was one of the last decently priced to one that has lost the reason for going.

I frequent the craft selection.
Many of the wood crafts have now become 2-3x+ the price you can now get new.
Cross stitch or embroidery thread is .25 for unknown or cheap brands that isn't complete, dollar store and michales sell packs that make it around 10-15c per skien (only dmc thread would be worth it).
Fabric has gone up, somtimes over $4m for unknown fabric, with less width than what fabric bolts come in. I have also seen an uptick of used worn out bed sheet being cut and sold as fabric.
Felt for complete pieces are still cheaper than new. 25c vs amazon which I can get at 30ish c. But the used pieces cost more than the full sheet when you take into account a quarter or a third of a sheet is priced at 10c or 15c.

Zippers that are under 6inch are 50c each is not more, the 50c ones appear to have been removed from jeans. Any size more is over $1 each (6inch). Some larger zippers are over 2.50 per.
I got a large pack of zippers off amazon that ended up being 25c each and they were 12in.
Quality control has been removed. Missing items or broken in kits that do not reflect the price.
Dollar store items/brands being priced at 3x+ new.

The dollar type store in niverville often has items that end up at the thrift store. The are pricing the items at minimun 2x what the store sells.

With the policy on not pricing items without tags has made customers not willing to bring it to the attention of the volunteers, since there is no reason to waste their time if they cannot get it. This has now made the shelves have multiple items without prices.

Atleast other thrift stores have sales on stock that have been there for a while. This one has had crafts (ones I am not interested in due to price) for over a year. This used to be uncommon for finding unreasonably priced items (5-10%) now it has gone up 80‐95% being over buying new.

I was treated so rudely by this person when I kindly asked for a small discount on a damaged item. She got so angry and threw rude comments at me instantly. I was shocked at how she responded. I only wanted a simple yes or no answer. This was not a good first impression of this store. I would have loved to come back sometime, but I’m hesitant because I left feeling shook.

This is the thrift shop that should be giving pointers to neighboring communities. It's clean with great selection and the prices .... exactly what I expect at a thrift store. The staff are friendly and helpful. Way to go Niverville!!!!

I go here often! Tuesdays are fullest with new things and the folks have been nothing but kind and helpful in my experience. Prices are still quite low and I usually find what I need as this place is pretty well organized.
There’s some sweet farm culture- y things like egg cartons for sale and plenty of vintage decor. Some lovely faux floral arrangements, clothing for all members of the family, sports gear, a good selection of stuffed animals. Kitchenware, some furniture…
I love this place and love supporting what MCC does. 10/10 recommend making the trip from the city if you need a lot of essentials.

This is my favorite thrift store in North America! Everything is clean, sorted, and in working order. And the prices are excellent! Volunteers not only sort and clean things before they go out for sale, but they also repair non-working items. I shop here any time I travel to Manitoba (usually several times each trip). I've bought everything from clothing to housewares, and even some unique art. It's definitely worth going out of your way.
