Terrible. They will not answer online applications, emails, calls, voicemails. You will be discouraged from visiting on site. Absolutely avoid. Horrible staff who clearly don't want homes for these poor animals.

The NL West SPCA clearly cares about the animals that they are meant to take care of. I adopted my dog from them and they were more than lenient with us in the process.

The new shelter is amazing and all of the animals seem to be very happy there. The staff were wonderful to deal with. My new cat is also awesome.

Really don't need to say much about the NL West SPCA. They uphold and value the SPCA charter and mission, they care for their rescues and they truly strive to maintain healthy and safe animals. In past experiences SPCA's have seemed to care more for the money, but not here. They make you feel like the animal you are adopting is more than a ball of fur. It is a living creature. They emphasize to people the importance of caring for this animal and the do a good job of vetting potential adopters.

The employees and volunteers at this facility work non-stop to house and care for so many animals from such a large area. Unfortunately, SPCA West is awaiting a new facility, that for a cornucopia of reasons keeps eluding the hard working team. But, they make the best of the position they are in and continue to care for many animals, primarily cats and kittens , however many dogs come and go to loving families as well. Stop in and foster, or give a needed forever home to the pet that chooses you 🙂

In the last couple of months we have adopted 2 dogs. Kim Fraser and the staff are wonderfull to deal with. All questions answered. The place is clean. It is a difficult job and well done!
