We dined here on an extremely hot day but the upper restaurant was pleasantly cool. Claire was our server and she was extremely helpful with our wine and meal choosing. We had the lamb shank and tomahawk pork chop, both wonderfully presented and equally delicious. The lavender cheesecake topped off a great night. It was so good I bought some of the culinary lavender in the winery gift shop to try at home.

My wife and I have been to North 42 a handful of times. After our last visit, we will likely never return. I had ordered a burger with no bacon. Not only did the burger come with the bacon that I had specifically asked to not have. It was still pink in the middle.

For the price of food at North 42, there should never be a time where a burger is coming out to be served that’s still pink in the middle.

After bringing this to the waitresses attention, the best they could do was take half off of my meal which included just the burger and a side salad (which I didn’t eat at all after I got about half way through the burger and noticed the pink)

Again, for the price to dine and the type of restaurant they present themselves to be, this is utterly unacceptable.

North 42 was EVERYTHING we hoped it would be. Not only did they make us feel like a million bucks, the facilities were beyond luxurious. The outdoor and third floor seating had such incredible views of the Vineyard! Service was delightful and timely. The walk around the facilities was SO beautiful. The gift shop had unique and beautiful items. Every wine we tasted was off the chart delicious! We could not make up our minds which wine we wanted for our final choice! We would schedule a tasting again in a heartbeat!!

The restaurant itself is beautifully designed, with an upper floor that includes a gorgeous terrace overlooking the vineyard. The ambiance and space provide a great experience. Another positive aspect is the staff—the server was very polite, professional, and made us feel welcome.

However, the food didn’t quite match the high prices. While the dishes were tasty, they didn’t deliver the level of quality you’d expect from fine dining. For instance, the fries were under-seasoned, lacked the promised truffle flavor, and were served with an odd wedge of lemon. To make matters worse, they weren’t even hot, and we had to ask for extra salt—hardly acceptable for $20.

The pear salad was really good, but other dishes were disappointing. We ordered the ravioli, which came highly recommended by our waitress. Although it was clear the pasta was made in-house, it missed the mark on flavor, seasoning, and execution, especially for the steep price of $36. The seasoning was off, with too much lemon, and the dough was too thick. Once again, the truffle flavor was absent, and the filling was unremarkable.

Overall, we had a good time at the restaurant and would still recommend it, but with some caution. Be aware that they are still developing their menu, and the food quality may not yet justify the fine dining prices.

Spent the weekend in Essex. North 42 was our first stop on our adventure . We had such a lovely lunch here. We were visiting other wineries, so we ate light and had the charcuterie board and paired it with a bubbly rosé (recommended by our server). The server was very knowledgeable and kind! Would definitely recommend this winery along with its brother company beside it, Crew!

The last time we have been at North 42, it was 2 years ago and we absolutely loved our food! We had fresh salmon, fresh vegetables, and the dessert was unbelievable!

Today I brought my parents out there for lunch and let me tell you I was very disappointed.

Our waitress was very nice. The service was very good.

But the food was only your regular bar food.m that you can get anywhere. There were
4 things on the lunch menu that were not available, including oysters, muscles, pork chop and the fish and chips they replaced with perch instead of the halibut.

I was really looking forward to having some fresh fish, but I ended up ordering a burger.
Everything on my plate was cold. My burger patty was tasteless and very dry.
Not worth to drive 45 minutes to a winery for this food!

Made reservations for dinner during our weekend trip to Kingsville. We sat on the upper patio and loved the view. The food was great and along with the service. We are from Ohio and loved the area. We definitely will be back.

We really enjoyed our visit. Staff were friendly, it’s close by other wineries, and the atmosphere was nice. If just going for a wine tasting it is half price to stand at bar compared to sitting at a table so if just popping in for a tasting I would ask for bar.
