What a great experience salmon fishing with my good friends. Organized and professional charter with experience and knowledge that's impressive. The operator has deep respect for the resource and we learned so much about fish behavior and actually how to successfully get fish to the boat. Chris was fantastic! Knowledgeable about the surrounding area so he was a great tour guide too. He had coolers on deck so we could hang out with drinks and snacks. There was also a toilet aboard! It was a comfortable, fun day!
Chris frequently checked up on the weather and currents as it could be quick changing at Vancouver Island. We saw this first hand when we had most of our allotted time and saw the weather take a turn. It became a rough ride back but Chris got us back safely. Chris was a captain that genuinely cared about us getting catches and enjoying ourselves. We weren’t able to take our catches home (due to the region we were in) but it didn’t matter because we were happy to be getting bites. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Don’t go elsewhere.

From the moment we stepped on Chris’s boat I knew we were in for a great day.
The boat was so clean and roomy bonus the toilet was a life saver. The weather wasn’t the best but the view was amazing. We saw a pod of dolphins, harbour porpoises, seals, the largest jellyfish I have ever seen and starfish.
Chris was an awesome guide and very knowledgeable. Unfortunately we didn’t catch an abundance of fish but the day was a success anyways. We were on the boat for 8 hours but honestly felt like two hours.
I was so impressed with Outsider Charters that we will be returning in July. This time for a two day fishing adventure.

If you're looking to go salmon fishing in Campbell River, do yourself a favour and book in with Outsider Charters. I organised a trip with Chris for my boss and his family. With very little notice Chris jumped into action and met us with a very clean and well maintained vessel. Across the board from safety, skill as a fisherman, respect for the fish and the ocean Chis was flawless. I would highly recommend Outsider Charters.

Well done! I have been on many a guided trip but none better than with Captain Chris. In a period of diminishing fish he had us fill our limit with two of us getting personal bests on Chinook or King or Spring depending on what country you’re from? Professional, fun, get boat, great gear. WE WILL BE BACK. 🙂

Awesome time with Chris! My 21yo son and I had a blast... We did 3 8-hour days and loved every minute. He knows the area, knows how to fish, and was a total pro. Clean, safe boat with coolers for snacks and beverages. Looking forward to our next trip! Can't recommend this experience enough!!

We recently went on our third annual fishing trip with Outsider Charters, and once again it was an outstanding outdoor experience. Top of the line equipment, expert fishing tips and knowledge from captain Chris, and incredible fishing.
The boat is clean, comfortable and was perfect for our group of four. The stern of the boat is spacious and thoughtfully set up to reel in double headers! I highly recommend to anyone looking for a west coast adventure.
