Pine Portage is an amazing semi-remote fishing camp. Once your 30 minute flight is finished, you will have arrived in fishing paradise. Pine’s staff does everything to make your trip and stay enjoyable. Fishing is fantastic, my boat caught 62 fish in 6 hours just 250 yards from dock. Though not award winning, their food is awesome. In fact, if you don’t put on a few pounds, you’re not eating. No need to bring bier, spirits or bottled water to camp, their camp store has it and is reasonably priced.

We cannot say enough positive and good things about the trip and our experience. ||My dad and I went with my 11 year old and 13 year old daughter. Pine Portage is like home. They killed it on every aspect. ||I’ll start with accommodations. The cabins are perfect. If you come with food and drink the kitchen is perfectly set up. The meal plan is the way to go, but bringing your own in would work perfect. They are super clean and comfortable. There wasn’t anything I would change ||The food portions WERE HUGE! Often, more than we could all eat. Dinners were especially great with a different theme every night. ||Ok, on to the fishing!! The fishing was top notch!!! ||We had a guide for two days and caught more fish than we thought was possible. Between the 4 of us we were pushing 60+ a day. The walleye were all 14-18 inches with an occasional 20-22 mixed in. ||Dave was THE MAN as a guide. He has 55+ years experience and we were more than blessed to have him as a guide. His shore lunch beats any place I have ever been and walleye will never be the same. He took amazing care of our girls and made the fishing days maybe the best days they’ll ever have fishing. ||“Slim,” Shaun, and Mike were always there to take care of any detail and worked their tails off to make sure that every day was perfect. (Hats off to you fellas! You guys made the trip!) ||We had what was probably a once in a life time experience for the girls and my dad and I. ||Highly recommend everything about Pine Portage. It sets the standard for excellence!

We had a great time even if the weather was raining a couple of days everybody was so nice and the food was great

Had a great time. 6 days of fishing was fantastic and weather beautiful. The people who run the lodge could not be more helpful. Catered to every need especially Mary Ellen, the manager. Great food and plenty of it. One person in our party had a food allergy to mushrooms. Paul, the head chef, went out of his way to make sure he was taken care of. We had one of the newer boats and they are great. They are slowly replacing all old boats with new ones but I guess it takes time. All in all it was a great place to go to just relax and enjoy. Definitely going back and can't wait.

We have a group that comes up every year. The fish are plentiful. Walleye are nice size for a Ontario lake. You can't beat a shore lunch. The broil lunch was great and fried fresh walleye are always wonderful. Boats are good with some having 20hp electric start. Meals were great. Lasagna, ribs, prime rib, chicken, pork tenderloin served nights and breakfast is cooked to order. Mary Ellen treats you like family. This place is a great value and we loved flying in a turbo otter sea plane.

We found the accommodation as comfortable as described in their ads. Food was good for a fishing lodge with a well thought out variety. Service was attentive and friendly. Guide was knowledgeable and put us onto lots of pickerel and pike every day . Only disappointment was that no larger fish were found. Some guys staying at the lodge were there only for large northerns and had good luck without a guide as they were repeat guests and knew the pike waters in the far northern part of the lake. Over the week they only went two days without catching at least a 36 inch pike.

The lake is beautiful, and the bordering wilderness pristine. If you can't catch a walleye in this lake, then you're not holding a fishing rod in your hand. ||||You could drop shoe string in with hook and worm and still pull out a walleye. ||||We did housekeeping this time, and the cottage was good, beautiful spot overlooking the lake with our own dock. || Our guide was Steve. Good man, and he'll put you on fish . If you have a novice in the boat, Steve will set them right up, and they will catch fish. They are all good people at this lodge.|| Later at night if you go up to the lodge to use Wifi, you might bump into the cook Sonny. Great guy , lots of laughs. He'll take care of you. They are all good folks, and what ever you need, they will do their level best to try to accommodate you. ||||I'll be booking again .

I've been there many times over the years and it's always been outstanding. Over the years, the fishing has varied from "very good" to "unbelievable", but the friendliness of the staff has consistently been superb. Not always the biggest fish on the planet, but normally lots and lots and lots of really nice fish... and they always taste AMAZING at shore lunch!
