Shoreline access trail, your agility is very much required on this trail.
Access onto the rocky edges is easy however be careful of fast moving water once out here
Speckles caught upriver before the rapids.

This trail follows the course of the river around several waterfalls. It’s gorgeous and the rocks around the waterfalls allow for some great views. The trail offers lots of pretty scenery of both the forest and the river, but the trail can get slippery in spots if it rains. You’ll need to be careful if the trail gets wet. Otherwise it’s a very satisfying hike, and I loved listening to and watching the water.

Went on a warm summer day and the river was hot.

We arrived at noon and had lunch on the park tables. We paid our fee and headed to the falls. We hiked up the trail along the falls. It is really beautiful.

The first part of the trail can be done in flip-flops but I don't recommend it. The roots and rocks would be easier to conquer in closed toe shoes.

We stopped in a few places to look at the rapids and chutes. After the river bend, the falls were less exciting but we ventured out into the river to play on the rocks. Everything is slippery. There are paths down to the river side throughout the length of the path.

Bring water and your camera!

Truly a hidden gem in Lake Superior Provincial Park, beautiful views of Sand River Falls. There are lots of rocks and exposed tree roots to look out for when hiking up along the river.

Went here instead of the pictographs cause of heavy rainfall and we weren't up to for the slicey dicey slippery rocks. Trail is pretty muddy and lots of wet opportunities. Many stops for the waterfall and made it to the end at the camp site.

Nice trail along the river, with a small gorge, rapids, falls, and a long sandy beach where the river runs into Lake Superior.
