We hired Rakes & Ladders to do work on our lawn. It was a tricky job because our existing lawn was very uneven and had a significant dip. We wanted new lawn and also to make everything more level.

Brian and team did a great and efficient job in removing the old lawn, moving around a great deal of soil to make level then laying the new sod. Work was done quickly and economically.

The team was also helpful in tips for ensuring the new lawn grew successfully and keeping critters that can be damaging to new lawns at bay.

This is a really good company. They maintain our grounds, prune our trees and take care of special projects that pop up throughout the year. My housing co-op is happy to employ them.

They are coming to the building I live in every Friday morning around 8:30 am and start blowing dead leaves with a two-stroke gas-powered engine leaf blower. You may see the video of what we are being exposed to every week. All the noise and fumes are inside my apartment even when windows are closed. Lots of landscaping companies have switched to battery-powered equipments, but no, not these guys!

Communication was very poor. Site clean-up after the work was finished was incomplete and two perennials were severely damaged by the crew.

I was really happy with the hedge trimming service. Brian was very responsive and professional and when he was running late for our appointment, he emailed me to explain he would be 15 min later than expected. When the crew showed up to do the work, they were very friendly and did a great job. They also cleaned up after themselves. I will hire them again!

Rakes and Ladders has maintained our strata property outdoor spaces for a number of years, and their service is excellent. They come reliably on schedule and take care of keeping our garden and lawn areas tidy and healthy. These people really work hard! You get your money's worth in my opinion.
