My Husband and I have been dealing with Rona Simcoe for 20 years. We renovated a cottage, our home , a few rental properties, our shop and now we are on the second rounds. We have found the employees to be helpful and courteous, from the garden centre to the front cashiers. We tend to deal with the contractor desk and have found the employees to go above and beyond. Specifically Stephanie and Shay at the contractor desk have always provided information, best pricing and availability and done so very professionally. They seem excited to see us and most customers. They always make sure the deliveries are made on time and when we require the material. Ben and Adam have also been very helpful, especially when we are looking for something out of the ordinary from the warehouse. Doreen at the kitchen design has been so patient and helpful over the years. There are times when the contractor desk is overwhelmed with customers. Stephanie and Shay have been very courteous , professional, competent and skilled when dealing with the impatient and irritable customers. I applaud your customer service.

The cashier that was at the front desk today at 1.30 pm was terrible, a young red headed girl. Didn't want to look up the product so I could pay and pick up my 40 pound bags of wood pellets outside. Instead she said I had to bring one bag in to make the payments. Ridiculous!!!
The amazing lady with a short bob hair cut at the customer service desk did her job, let me pay and then I was able to pick up my bags out side, the gentleman out side was extremely helpful and had the most friendly service. One star less only because the useless little cashier at the front made it a horrible experience. Give her job to someone that wants to work please. Thank you!

I use to really like the quality of wood from Rona. Actually drove out of my way to purchase from here. Purchasing 20 pcs 4 X 4 fence Posts was a big disappointment. Pile was wet to start with, but they said "that is how it comes". As the posts dried in the ground they twisted creating many problems, as one can image. Ben said : "that is normal for the fence posts to twist and split". While if they knew that from past sales, why didn't they make adjustments in buying, so the customer wouldn't feel cheated. When asked what they could do for all my time fixing the twisted posts. THEY JUST LAUGHED. Do they expect repeat business when they sell a product that "THEY KNOW" is not going to work- when used ,"exactly" as what it was designed for. Blame the supplier or what ever makes you feel good. Not a happy VIP customer.

I will never go back!

I normally shop at Rona in Brantford and they are great. I needed five hexagon paving stones today to complete my pathway. I happened to be in Simcoe so I decided to pick them up there instead. What a mistake!

First of all, they do not have them available for you to pick up on your own. You have to get paperwork at the contractors desk and go through hoops to get them. I was in a hurry because I had to pick up my grandson from school. He is on crutches. I explained this multiple times.

I got the paperwork from the desk and took it out to the man by the booth as instructed. He had no idea where they were being stored. He called over a young man who helped me and told me where to park. Then we discovered they only had two and not the five of the pavers that I had purchased.

Long story short, he apologized and wrote out a refund request which I then had to take to customer service. Customer service did more paperwork and told me to take it to the checkout. I was now 10 minutes late for picking up my grandson.

There was a trainee at the checkout and I explained my situation again, how I was on a serious time budget The cashier asked me for my original receipt which was still in the car so I had to run out to the parking lot to grab that receipt. When I brought it back and I explained again that I was in a hurry but the girl just looked at me and told me that the young lady at the cash register was a trainee. Instead of stepping in to take over, they simply carried on with the training. I mentioned that I was upset because I was sold inventory that the store did not have and all of this was taking up valuable time. Instead of an apology, they both looked at me and said "Well, we don't know what we have in stock" and this is acceptable to them? Not once did they apologize for the inconvenience. It was as if I was the one that was in the wrong

I will never go back. They do not listen to their customers, they do not know what they have in stock and they do not check before taking your money and making the transaction. Worst of all, the cashier's act like they matter more than the customers.

I do not recommend shopping at the Rona in Simcoe.

I'm in the process of getting estimates for all the building materials for a 24x30 garage with loft my first contact at the contractor desk was great the girl seemed as excited as I was to help me as as I am building it she put me In contact with another employee a fine gentleman he was very cordial as well as speedy in getting the estimates the problem arose when I had a few for this gentleman I wanted to make sure I was comparing apples with apples simple and reasonable so I thought when I stopped in for a quick Chat another girl working on the desk stated he wasn't in today come back tomorrow ,I live in Paris and wasn't in simcoe the next day I had asked her to leave a message for this gentleman to contact me tomorrow answer was no, i thought just a simple note left for him would do but no Email Him she stated at that point I said I prefer to chat with the gentleman and I'm not so proficient with E mail I'm in my 60s and learning, at that point she turned her back through up her hands in disgust ,I have never felt so small ,in shock I repeated twice do you really want to blow the deal over something like this ,at that point I left ,I do sympathize with people that work with the public some are hard to deal with I was not ,and I don't claim to know what is going on in that girls life I do sympathize but in no way did I deserve to be treated in that manner since I have chatted with the gentleman and he went out of his way to make amends ,I have always enjoyed dealing with Rona it was one of my regular stops and I'm am saddened that I won't be dealing there again Truly Mark Glover

A couple of days ago, my spouse and I entered the store and suddenly his Parkinson's disease took over. He freezes up sometimes and can't move. A customer offered her assistance and we were both very grateful for her kindness. The female at the desk where we were there to order a fridge also offered assistance. She was also kind enough to help pick up a couple of other items in the isle for us. It is really nice to see strangers offer to help us anytime this happens. We are so grateful that there are still kind people who are willing to help without having to ask.

🙄Possibly the worse Rona store in this region when it comes to their stock levels and when compared to Hamilton, Brantford, Ancaster storesđŸ˜”â€đŸ’«...so many items listed on RONA website are not available in this store..Also, it seems like many items are priced higher for some reason even when compared to other Rona stores?!....definitely when checked against Home Depot prices of the same or comparable productsđŸ€‘

I was at the pro desk today. I had already bought 1000$ worth of lumber and brought some back as it was not needed. They didn't have the cash so I wanted to buy a 10-in Makita compound sliding miter saw a young fellow help me he was a co-op and he was told to go to the warehouse and he came back and said there was nothing out there and dark-haired lady named Shay was at the desk and I said well can I get the one off the display and she said no we can't sell that to you we won't have anything to display so I accepted that I drove from simco Rona to Branford Rona and to home Depot. And there I was told it's discontinued. So I went back to Simcoe where they said they could order it. When I got there Stephanie told me it was discontinued. The one on display was then now offered to me. That was missing the dust collector bag and a clamp that holds the wood boards tight to the saw and a board guide was missing. So Stefanie takes to a guy that works there and the price on the saw was 519$ Ben said the best they could do was 475$ . So I got a 44$ discount for a saw with no box no dust bag no board clamp and missing one board guild. So I said jokingly and the dark haired lady named Shay said to me " this is a business" I said I know it was a joke then she even went a few more steps to be ignorant to me by giving me a dirty look and then asked me if" I was ok... " I was very disturbed by that question as I have a very severe mental health issues with dealing with someone like Shay. This is definitely not the kind of customer service anyone should ever have to deal with . I ended up buying the saw. But Im debating buying anything else from there . I have a deck I'm building and I need another 3500$ in material to buy . But I'm second guessing Rona now
