I am a Master Gardener and Landscape Designer' and became a sponsor at these gardens for 2 yrs being 1 of 3 only active sponsors spending 48+ hrs per wk and investing $2k on the largest plot and another their committee wanted me to care for. The gardens are deteriorating because of their committee keeps spending money on fence lights rather than adequate watering or maintenance of the old watering system. Although they too are volunteers, they don't care about anything negative you may experience there, such as a toxic group from (McVittie Place apts next door) who forced the committee to listen to slander about me or they would go to the local media and give NEGATIVE PRESS about the gardens. Not 1 of these trouble makers had even met me, however they regularly stole from me at the gardens and at our seniors aptartment next door. They would not disclose their names (9 in total) to the committee nor what they claimed about me (that I was schizophrenic, (no disorders here!!), but an acquaintance of mine was told this by the lead person, pointing me out while working, and her (a senior female bully, yes believe it!!!) stalked me there 3x a day 5 days a week. The committee was fully aware!! The patio was closed to the public at my suggestion, because it was beside my plot giving them access to bother me. it was once used for plant sales, and she was discovered to be stealing my pots. When asked repeatedly to leave the patio, she circled back and assaulted me ramming my legs with her walker. I have disabilities - a locked knee, and Vertigo. The Rotary didn't care as she tried 3 times to entrap me into her schemes to say I "was attackering her" when I walked past her to get a drink. In my second year when the assault occured, the committee decided my presence was now a 'liability' as this woman bothered the public and committee about me, and they didn't carry Liability insurance. After my dedicated investment in over 3,800 hrs all documented, I was deeply hurt and felt massively used. They have the ability to issue a "no tresspass order" because they did this to me. I found 2 kids 8 and 12, brother and sister attempting to smash the Vase bubbler in the Meditation Garden. I wanted their names. I picked up her bag and put the handles over my wrist. She came up behind me attacking me and pulling me to the ground (could have broken my hip at 73) and began kicking and screaming dramatically so she could run home on Maple Street. She had me trapped on the ground. I called out to an approaching man to call police. 5 arrived and thought I was holding her down, dragged me up, handcuffed me and charged ME with assault while yelling at me. I froze as you would have. I showed them the chips around the vase bubbler. It took local Duty Counsel 6 months to have charges withdrawn. Never more than a light speeding ticket in my life let alone assault of a minor!!. An officer drove the kids home after TREATING THEM TO ICE CREAM. They did not learn a lesson from this but I was not allowed by their Chair to go to the gardens for a year even though charges were withdrawn. I thought it would be an honour to rebuild he largest plot there. There is no honour with there committee, 2 of whom took to yelling at me with public present for no reason other than the seeds that local bully had planted in their minds in my first month. I was the only person to approach THEM, with my experience in over 5 years. Mr. Jacobs does not actively recruit new sponsors as the original sponsors have aged out and are not caring for these gardens. The other 2 only come twice a year. I will explain while conveying my next experience to follow.

I love this little park. It has been put together and designed, creating a beautiful relaxing walk in a quiet setting with multiple species of plants and flowers. Many places and benches to sit and have a picnic if you desire. I love that it calms the mind and feels like you're in a small jungle.

A nice park in Bracebridge. The grounds and paths are well-kept, with beautiful flowers throughout the summer. There are some waterfalls which unfortunately aren't always running. There is also a meditation circle in which you can sit quietly and look up at the trees. Our dog loves going for a walk through there!

An absolutely beautiful and peaceful garden, with two picnic areas ! Just strolling around with a friend and had the pleasure of chatting with the two ladies that maintain the garden. Ended up going home with some fresh chives 😊

Highly recommended to drop by if you’re in the Bracebridge area.
