Most recent visit to Safeway you could find a large pile of swept up garbage located directly in front of the entry way in.
- safety hazards.
- incredibly rude cashier (her name being Mekeet, or something.)
- laughable security guard constantly on his phone.
- improperly labeled products.

Giving one star only because the staff they have managed to keep for a while are phenomenal, but that's about it. This is hands down the worst Safeway I've ever been to, and that hurts to say because Safeway has always been my fave big chain grocery store. I don't think I've ever seen more than 3 tills open, it averages 2 on a "good" day. I've lost track of the number of times I've had to 86 the majority of items off my grocery list because they were out of stock. I've probably seen the customer service counter staffed once in the past 9 months. Don't even try going during 5-7pm, lineups 10 people long with two tills open. The deli is super popular as always but so overworked, and the soup station is consistently emptied by 11am, yet when I go in at 8:30am, the soups haven't even been put out? Its like they put in 1/4 amount of what the warmers can hold, so about 4 or 5 customers grab soup, and then its empty. I've seen our local 711 bathroom cleaner than this one, it's pathetic. Be sure to double-check your receipts as well, as they constantly have outdated sale tags still up. I don't know who manages this place, but they are really severely dropping the ball and have been for a long time now. I'm not one to leave a negative review, but this has been a long time coming. It's no wonder Save-on is so popular and busy in Nelson with how awful this Safeway is. Management and owners, DO BETTER.

Usually love this place but lately, ew. Yesterday we bought a greek salad from the deli, expensive and when we got home 10 minutes later, it was SO OLD, completely spoiled. Left it on the counter overnight and it exploded in its container. Like..literally popped the lid- and then tonight we got a quick chicken tenders meal- completely unedible- rock hard. Do better safeway. We're wasting our money with you.

Love the boxes by the registers to put groceries in. Front of store was but dirty, and so was the bathroom. Loved the variety and different ethnicities of food here and there.
