Save On has always been hit or miss, and somehow this place keeps getting worse. Many people in here are clearly just here to try and make a paycheck. I miss when this towns grocery stores felt like community helping community. Now it's no different from if you were out in the city. Many of the younger staff are out of place, many of the other staff don't greet you or say much of anything. I thought you were supposed to be people centered or at least able to start small conversation if you were to be hired within this company? I guess not! They should try and learn from some of the older ladies who have been working there for a long while now. They're awesome!! Also, I think you should get someone else to handle the phone calls other than the one terrible mannered older male with glasses and longer hair. Either he's hard of hearing, or you need to know exactly what he's yelling at the customer from 2 isle over!! Had to pass him and he also had a strong odor, it was hard not to react. Maybe it's beyond his control but don't have him on the floor if he is so far gone to be decent to others. Just a thought. The higher ups need to seriously consider turning over the team.

Watch out for the short, older, cashier gentleman (age late 60s.)
His demeanour with customers is very hostile and unfriendly. He is very impatient, and will bark orders to you if you don’t do things his way and in the timing that he wants. Also noticeable was his bad hygiene that the general public can smell from across the counter.
I cannot believe how someone with such rage and negativity and lack of healthy hygiene practices, could pass the interview at Save On Foods for a direct customer service position. Observation was Saturday March 8th early afternoon. Description-Shorter male, thinning hair, posturally hunches over, mid- to late 60s . I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt but this was something else and had to step forward with my experience

Some of the younger staff are sometimes nice when we shop there, however there are a few older staff that are extremely rude towards customers.
The one lady named Arlene is one of the rudest I have seen anywhere, always in the way or almost bowling you over as she walks right in front of you, and if you ask here to stop she starts spreading bad words about customers.
With over 30 years in customer service, I deem Arlene to be a poor service representative indeed.

Evelyn and I'm sure others ...Oh...one lady I really like but her name escapes me( seems like a manager) been there a Looooonnng time!!

I love the Hope Save on Foods. We have wonderful staff here for our community.

The staff here are racist towards Indigenous people. If you are of colour - the staff are racist and discriminate. This is my hometown and being indigenous I am discriminated. The security person followed us down the aisles as if we were going to steal by racially profiling me and my family.
I am enraged of being treated like this and I will bring this matter to the right channels and bring the attention to the continuous issue.

Good variety for a small town, but the prices are definitely a bit higher than neighboring Chilliwack

The security guard followed me around and kept watching me. It made me feel intimidated and uncomfortable. I am an indigenous woman from this land and feel insulted that I was racially profiled I won't be shopping here again. He also followed us to our car and then came back and made a point of standing beside the car. He then went back inside and came back out and stood by a car one more time. As an indigenous person I deal with this all the time, I'm not exaggerating it was very racist.
