The adoption process was very thorough but went super smoothly! After filling out all the forms online, the next day we were able to visit the foster home and meet the kitty we were interested in. We clicked right away so we brought him home that same day.

Thank you so much SCARS for all you do for these animals <3. If we could we’d adopt a dozen of them! We will definitely look to this rescue again next time we want to adopt an animal!

One of the most ethical, caring and passionate animal rescue organizations around. The volunteers work tirelessly - they’re heroes to dogs and cats and find loving homes. The animals are spayed, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. They provide clean, warm and safe shelter and veterinary care to all who need it. No animal is ever euthanized just because they’re homeless. Thanks for all you do.

I visited SCARs and have gotten involved in fostering animals with them. I think the staff have a genuine care and appreciation for the animals. The facilities are very well maintained and the needs of the animals are put above the rest. I have visited a few different rescues across Canada and this one seems like it should be the standard to strive for.

Amazing facility with tons of parking. Wheelchair accessible with lots of flat area and no stairs. Wonderful staff, admission is by appointment only.
This is an amazing charity that gives and gives, the shelter is beautiful and clean, filled to the brim with happy animals looking for their forever homes!

We all can use helping hand in difficult situation. Pets are no different. Some are brought to shelters by family members when they can't take care of them anymore. But, unfortunately, there are so many out there abandoned by people that we call humans with big question mark.
Thankfully organizations like SCARS are there to help pets as much as they can. Good hearted people provide them with medical care, food, shelter and abundance of love.
It would be great if there was more involvement in humanitarian work including helping pets in need.
