Needed paint tips of which I know nothing about. Lady in the paint department with black hair was very helpful answering all my silly questions. She had much patience with me. Highly recommended.

I was just here this morning with my dad, we’re working on a wood stain project for our staircase. Brought in a sample to test out a couple stains. Joan was at the paint centre training another employee it seemed. I have never been spoken to this rudely or aggressively by a customer service representative for a place that supposedly is known for helping people out with home projects. My dad asked her if we could stain our sample. She said it would not match. We understood it wouldn’t be perfect with the plan to either do a white wash/bleach underneath but wanted to see it tested on the wood first. She proceed to roll her eyes & give us attitude as she threw the tins of stain across the table & slammed stuff down on that table while doing the simple task. This made my dad & I so incredibly uncomfortable & I’m sure the trainee….This is not how you treat customers? One of the stains would have worked perfectly but we decided to leave because of her behaviour & did not want to purchase anything from there. Please address this employee. I will never bring my dad here again, who proceeded to be kind to her after and thank her anyways. This is unacceptable. Very unlike Stratford to have people this rude. I was embarrassed to have brought him here. Was able to get the stain at Home Depot instead, who the attendant at the paint centre was SO lovely & helpful.

Ordered and paid online. I was notified the next day when the order was ready to pickup. Pickup was outside, sheltered a little from the elements, with a wide barrier between staff and myself. There was no line-up. It was a fast and painless experience.

When lots of purchases were made (about $1,800 all together) everyone was very nice. When we asked for something - call it A, they sold us B - we tried to return it (about $50) and it wasn’t allowed. They even told us we were told it was B but we thought it was A. Not a great experience. Don’t want to go back there anymore.

My mom and I went to shop for some paint. Joan who works in the paint department of the Stratford, Ont store was absolutely amazing! She answered all of our questions and gave us great advice from choosing the right paint to the best rollers, and tools we would need. She was so friendly and took the time to make us feel like our choice to come to Home Hardware for the paint was the best decision! Thank you so much Joan!

Needed lamp oil for my pair of matching oil lamps .. and this is where to go!
Parrafin based lamp oil .. just under $9.00 for a bottle.... And have already filled the lamps and had them on one evening.
Memories of my Dad and his oil lamp collection 🙂
