This animal shelter facility and the service they provide is so wonderful. The way they tend and care for animals is amazing. The site where animals spend their time has always been so clean, large pens with plenty of toys to prevent boredom. They provide the animals environment where the animals can thrive. If you are thinking to own an animal and you are not 100% sure, I strongly suggest to foster first. This will give you an opportunity to try and at the same time you help the animal to change their environment and be part of a family for few months. You will receive all the necessary supplies, toys and food. I have fostered a bunny for 2 months and when it was time to put him up for adoption for someone else, it was hard to give him back, so I ended up adopting him 🙂 He is wonderful, very smart, cute and very inquisitive. This little bunny fits into my home as if he always belong <3

Ed and I adopted Ollie I week ago today. He is such a great boy. Was so cared for prior by the wonderful Surrey Animal Resource Centre. They taught him so many positive things that his transition into our family was so easy and wonderful. We are ever so grateful to all the people who helped with our meeting and adoption.

All of my adopted pets are from here. Staff are very friendly and helpful. They always make sure they choose the right family and had gone through the process before they send them home. Also they provide you with all the documentations and pets were vaccinated and are microchipped and were seen by their vet.

We recently adopted a wonderful tuxedo cat from here, and we couldn’t be happier! He’s loving, playful, and fits perfectly into our home. We named him Don Perignon to match his elegant look, and he’s truly brought so much joy to our lives.

The staff was fantastic throughout the adoption process, providing helpful updates and support. We’re so grateful for this experience and highly recommend this agile organization to anyone looking to adopt a pet. Thank you for helping us find our perfect family member.

My wife and I recently visited the Surrey Animal Resource Centre for the first time to look for a cat to adopt. There were a few kittens available, and while they were absolutely adorable, we decided not to adopt as they were around 6 months old and we were hoping for a younger kitten.

There were also a few stray cats that weren’t ready for adoption yet. Overall, the centre was clean and well-maintained, with friendly staff and a calm, welcoming atmosphere. It was a great experience, and we would definitely consider visiting again in the future.

Amazing adoption experience! If you are thinking about adoption, this is the place! I adopted my two cats here 🙂 You’ll see the big fur baby (in 2021) and the innocent kitten (in 2024).

Visit - You can drive to the centre and play with the cats and other small animals during the drop in hours (for dogs, I think you will need to book in advance).

You can also visit their Facebook page, they have dedicated photo albums for “adoptable cats” and “adoptable dogs”. That was how I found my cats originally. The staff there are doing an amazing job in maintaining and updating the website, making notes on each and every animal from the shelter (personality traits; etc.), you can feel the care and love the staff have for the animals.

Adoption - I genuinely appreciate the support from the staff there. They make the process so friendly, straightforward and efficient. I told all my friends and colleagues about this place so if and when they are ready to adopt, they know where to visit.

My experience with some other animal shelters was less encouraging - While I understand the volunteers and staff in every shelter definitely care for the animals, I find the application process in some places time consuming and frustrating, most of time I ended up not hearing back from them. Don’t get me wrong, all animals deserve the time and care, but often I was (and similar experience from my friends) left in the dark not knowing where our applications were at. From application submission, to email reply to schedule phone interview, to potential home visit, to close an application, it can be weeks or even months. From an operational perspective, it is not efficient. I imagine animals would also want to be with a family earlier than staying in the shelter for a long time.

But the staff at Surrey Animal Resource Centre are on top of things! You would expect a call the next day you submit an application! In-person same day adoption is preferred and honestly it makes a lot of sense - people who travels to the shelter in person to spend time with the animals generally are serious about adoption.

There is a package assembled for each adopted animal with detailed instructions, especially helpful if this is your first time adopting! The staff will also go over the details about the animal including medical history, vaccination and microchip; etc. they will also pack you a starter kit for food so the fur babies have the same type of food to transition to the new home.

Anyways, I am very grateful for the people who work here, they are doing amazing work! I hope you find your fur baby soon too!

I just wanted to leave a review for Surrey Animal Resource Centre after having an amazing experience here.
I came here initially not knowing if I wanted to adopt a cat, but I ended up putting in an application for a kitten in a litter. The vetting process was really thorough and the staff here really make sure that you're a good fit for a cat which is really important! I ended up wanting to switch the application from the kitten to his mom and the staff here were so so understanding.
I ended up adopting his mother (pictured in the photos here!) and have never been so grateful for the centre here to bring us together!
My cat had gotten spayed a couple days before picking her up and the staff here made sure to let me know to contact them if anything came up and that they were available through emails or phone calls.
I cannot reiterate enough how important this resource in Surrey is, whether it's from caring and housing adoptable pets to helping with lost animals.
I want to personally thank Christina for being so lovely, welcoming, and kind. Thank you all so much!
