Tried to capture a 3.5-hour volunteer shift in just 90 seconds.

Today I volunteered at The Food Bank of Waterloo Region on the Hamper Line, where we packed 690 food hampers, each one carefully filled with fresh produce like tomatoes, potatoes, cucumbers, and sweet peppers.

Every item was checked for quality before it reached the next person on the line. It was fast-paced, collaborative, and purpose-driven—exactly the kind of experience that reminds you what good teamwork can accomplish.

We ended the shift by cleaning the workspace and signing out, something simple, but a great example of accountability in action.

It’s incredible what a few hours can do when people come together with intention.
I walked away grateful, inspired, and honestly energized.

Would highly recommend volunteering if you’re looking to give back, learn, and grow.

I and my son joined a volunteer food sorting session. We truly enjoyed doing meaningful work. My son was very happy that he asked me about when we were coming back to work. We also had a tour of the facilty, which was impressive. Volunteers and staff are very careful about not wasting any donated food.

Team took our donations in this evening. Did a tour and sort while we were there. 35,000 peopled served last year in our Region. Some alarming stats shared. So happy that we have great community helpers and organizations in KW.
