A jungle in Alberta!? They have an untouched part of land that they showcase what a lot of Alberta would have looked like before it was cleared for agriculture.
We came here with a school group and I was impressed with the organization and informational leading. We came with kids of varying ages, quite a few toddlers with short attention spans, and the staff did a great job making the sessions short but educational. With pit stops for strawberries and pumpkin picking, this was a fun element to include as we toured the farm. The wide variety of pumpkins and squ-umpkins(squash pumpkins) was so cool!
The kids do course had an absolute blast on all the climbing structures and the grassy slide hill. Is adults even gave it a go! My youngest adored the tractor wagon ride and the staff were really good making sure everyone was safe around the farm equipment.
The u-pick is massive and picking fall strawberries was a first for me! They were so sweet and good. They also sampled us some kohlrabi, which the kids didn’t like but it definitely was a first time for them trying such an interesting veggie( for those of you that are wondering it’s got a texture on the inside similar to an apple or a potato, and a flavour combo of a broccoli and cauliflower).
The little market store had a variety of goods, jams, pickled things, and toys.
The bathroom situation is probably the only downside with two porta potties…but at least there are bathrooms available.

Awesome place to pick berries, vegetables and enjoy the ambience of a lovely farm. Kids and adults would definitely have fun here and enjoy the experience.

Really fun experience but this place could get really busy. It brought back a lot of childhood memories of picking in the fields. The strawberries were bursting with flavour. Usually having store bought, they simply don’t compare to eating local!

한국인을 위한 리뷰: 레드디어 근처의 아름다운 농장. 한적하고 아이들 놀리기에 매우 적합하다. 시설이 그리 많은 편은 아니라서 오래는 못 놀지만, 딸기를 직접 딴다던지 하는 액티비티가 가능하고, 무엇보다 입장료가 따로 없어서 (여름 페스티발 때는 제외) 부담없이 들르기가 좋다. 고속도로에서 얼마 안 떨어져 있으므로 에드먼튼/레드디어에서 캘거리로 향할때 들렀다가기에 적합하다. 반대의 경우는 이니스패일에서 들어간다음 레드디어쪽으로 나가야 하니 시간이 더 소요 된다.

I was initially turned off by the admission fee too, but once we were inside and saw how much there was to do and tasted those delicious strawberries, it was totally worth it. My toddler loved every minute of being at The Jungle Farm, except riding on the tractor. I think the noise of the engine freaked him out. We picked berries, but there were also a ton of veggies you can pick too. There are two giant slides to go down - so much fun for mom and dad too - a corn maze, bean bag toss, farm animals to feed, hay bale fort and a whole lot more. Overall, The Jungle Farm was a great way for my family to disconnect from city life in Calgary, let the kid run free and relax. I highly recommend The Jungle Farm for young families!

Not a great U-Pick as it is very overpriced. You'll pay more than the grocery store, just to do the labour of harvesting the fruit yourself, and after driving a long distance and paying the gas to get to this place. Not worth it.
Their sunflower field, however? Very nice!
