Beautiful green space located within the city. Came here with a friend who frequents the area on bike - incredible stuff. Quite busy for a weekday afternoon but lots of parking (paid) and plenty to do. A shop, cafe and even a litttle event space all located inside the gardens. Would definitely recommend for a beautiful afternoon outdoors!

This place is truly an urban oasis, and a total gem for anyone in the North York area. The main benefit is that admission to the outdoor gardens is absolutely free, and they're stunning, blending right into the larger Edwards Gardens park. The "Civic Garden Centre Pavilion" (the main building) is a gorgeous piece of architecture with a tranquil interior that houses the gift shop and the amazing Weston Family Library—Canada's largest private horticultural library, which is a big plus for gardeners. The outdoor themed gardens are a masterclass in design, especially the Piet Oudolf-designed Entry Garden Walk which is incredible in the late summer/fall.
The only real downside is the parking. While it's available, it's paid ($4/hour) and on busy weekends, the lot gets absolutely jam-packed, which can really spoil the start of a relaxing day. My advice: go on a weekday if you can, or take transit and enjoy the walk.
