Jex was so lovely to work with! We started with a quick call to get an idea of what I was looking for (surprise dinner for a bachelorette party). He offered plenty of options for us to build our custom menu. He was on time, super friendly, kind, and most importantly the food was incredible! We were so stuffed at the end of the meal! And he left the kitchen cleaner than he found it. I would definitely work with Jex again for any special occasions!

We were so happy to have found Jex to cater our son’s wedding last weekend. Right from the start, he assured us that we could ask any questions, that he had us covered & was there to make it as stress free as possible.
We were working with him, planning the meal out from a long-distance from Alberta- we didn’t the ability to have a tasting, but it didn’t matter in the end.

His social media food photos & great reviews, along with his professional, responsive communication helped us rest easy that he would deliver. And deliver, he did!
We received so many amazing comments about the food- it was spot on & wonderful flavours!! Our 90+ guests were so full & content- we didn’t need a lot of appetizers or dessert. We had more than enough food, based on his expert quantity recommendations.
Apart from that, the meal arrived hot and on time. Jex even arranged rentals of linens & chafing dishes- at a lower cost than we could source ourselves.
We were so pleased and truly grateful for Jex’ services and personal care. Thank you so much for helping make the day wonderful.

Absolutely delicious! Transcend by Jex Catering went above and beyond at the event I attended. The spread was generous, beautifully presented, and packed with flavour—every bite was amazing. The chicken drummettes were my personal favourite (I may or may not have taken some home and enjoyed them for lunch the next day!). Jex created a mountain of food to make sure everyone was well fed, and not a single bite went to waste on my watch. Incredible food, kind service, and the kind of catering that leaves a lasting impression. Highly recommend!

A True Game-Changer for Caribbean Meals at Home!

We just finished our first 7 meals from Transcend by Jex, and our second order arrived today — and let me tell you, this is exactly what the GTA has been missing!

The meals are fresh, flavourful, and thoughtfully customizable. We opt for couscous and quinoa instead of rice, and everything arrives perfectly portioned and ready to heat and enjoy. The variety suits everyone in our multigenerational Caribbean household — from my 20-year-old daughter to my 88-year-old aunt.

What really stands out is their attention to detail. We requested no-spice meals for my aunt, and she absolutely loves them! It's rare to find Caribbean cuisine that honours traditional flavours while accommodating different dietary needs.

I am happy to highly recommend Transcend Catering. We ordered jerk chicken with rice and beans for about 48 people. First of all, Chef Jex was very informative and responsive to questions. He also personally delivered the food exactly on time, hot and ready to eat!

Most importantly, the food itself was amazing. The jerk chicken was especially flavourful - not focussed on heat for heat's sake, instead delivering a depth of warm, rich spices with just enough heat to remind you that this is from Jamaica! The rice and beans make a great accompaniment, especially with a spoonful of jerk gravy from the chicken on top!

All in all, great food, great service, and a great experience.
