The only reason this store is getting any stars is for the lady that has the beautiful box braids and beautiful salon nails and eyelashes. She's the epitome of stunning and nice. I forget her name but she's so polite and the best person to deal with at the cash.

I just had one of the most baffling experiences of my life at this location.

I walked in looking for some specific groove and tongue pine and was sent to the warehouse to make sure they had the correct one in stock, which is an awesome start.

I went to the warehouse, found the person working, and showed them the sample I brought. They immediately took me to a pile that wasn't even close (rough vs finish) and said all they had has different lengths of that.

So I head back in to order what I needed. While the person at the desk was looking it up, the warehouse worker came in and informed me that they may have the correct stuff after all, so I head back out to take a look. Turns out it was a small pile of leftovers and all long and different lengths, so I had to stop and think about how much I needed/wanted. While figuring it out I asked the warehouse worker what the price was, if the inside guys would know what was in stock and if they could cut off bad sections (as they were leftovers), they couldn't answer the question. While I was figuring it out someone else came in, got the worker I was dealing with to go do something else and just stood there looking at me, didn't ask if I needed help, didn't even say hello.

So after that awkwardness, I had the list of what I wanted and the product code (which was placed on the wrong pile) so I headed inside to pay for it. I go back to the desk, no one was there, I waited a while then started looking around and no one was nearby. As I head back to the desk that third person walks up and says "Bill went home". I had no idea who Bill was, so I ask and was informed Bill was the person I was talking to at first and that the warehouse was now closed.

So long story short, I got bounced back and fourth, had to get all the details about their stock, was never told their warehouse was closing (the store was open for another hour) and ended up with nothing.

I think from now on I will go out of my way to the small town stores and avoid this one! What a confusing, baffling, awkward waist of time!

Update: I was in and out of the Oxford location in ~15mins with the same order the following morning. The staff knew exactly what I was looking for based on the same sample I took to Truro and the warehouse staff had it pulled and ready by the time I got my truck around.

I would like to take the time to write this review about the very positive experience I had at Home Hardware on Robie St in Truro recently because of an employee there named David Crosby.
My spouse and I were looking for a refrigerator and we were immediately approached by David and given help through the whole purchase process. He was easy to work with and went above and beyond to assist us in our purchase. We went to several other businesses in Truro and New Glasgow to shop for our refrigerator and no one came close to the service we received from David Crosby. He was able to arrange for delivery the following day and he even accompanied the two delivery people who arrived with the appliance. The refrigerator was installed in our home and unpacked and all of the packing material removed. He also ensured that the refrigerator that we were getting rid of was placed where we asked and the process was smooth with no mess or damage to our home unlike previous deliveries we have had. This is a person who goes above and beyond and truly understands what it is to provide 5 star customer service. We are preparing to purchase more appliances for a new build and we will definitely be purchasing these appliances from David. Home Hardware is lucky to have and employee such as David and they should be acknowledging his dedication to making them look good. Looking forward to working with you again soon David.

Worst service ever!!! On the weekend we went in to price up metal roofing for our addition. 1st man said he was not good at it and was leaving soon so we would have to wait for another employee who was on break. We waited a while but as I had to go to work , we left and my husband came back, got the quote and we were told they would order it when we paid!
Last night we went in to town and stopped in to pay! Same man as before who would not help us told us no the desk was closed and we would have to come back tomorrow. The store was still open for well over an hour! It seems more to us that he could not be bothered!
Well Home Hardware , you just lost our business! We will never be back! We ordered our roofing elsewhere!

Staff can be unfriendly also if you do make a purchase the store is hard to get out of only exit is to wait in the checkout line

Wow....I don't know what else to say....fully stocked store, manned registers EVERYWHERE, and a full compliment of staff. They were all super knowledgeable and eager to help.id I could give 6 stars I would!!
