This is a beautiful garden centre.
When my husband and I can escape from the cold and snow in our hometown, and visit our little place in White Rock, we make a point of visiting this beautiful Garden Centre. Every season the staff create fabulous planters to represent what Ma Nature is working on locally. Right now it’s Crocus, Hyacinth, Daffodils. The home furnishings are lovely, the tropical plants look very healthy and everything a gardener needs for planting and display are available. There is even a self service coffee centre very comfortably furnished.
It is a joy to drop in once every three months. We always find plants and accessories that enhance our small garden.

My husband and I went to West Coast to find two indoor trees for our new home. We met Brandon at the front door, while he was watering plants in preparation for the store’s 9 am opening. Brandon greeted us immediately, and when I asked for advice he stopped what he was doing and accompanied us indoors. With his knowledge and recommendations, we bought 2 cedars, 2 revolutionary pots to house them, hens and chicks, a Ficus, a Dracaena, and two small tropical plants. Brandon made us feel comfortable with asking questions, and his enthusiasm for plants was evident. At no point did we feel rushed, and we left feeling very satisfied with our visit.

The visit was SO successful that we went back the same afternoon and bought two more cedars and their pots, as well as three hanging baskets.

During both visits staff offered to help us carry items to the cash register or - if we were spotted alone - staff asked if we needed help.

We had been told by multiple sources that we would pay a little more at West Coast, but that we would be guaranteed healthy plants and knowledgeable staff. We were very pleased with our two visits (in one day!), and would highly recommend West Coast Gardens.

It’s been about a year since I posted this review and I had to add a bit more to my review.

We have continued to visit and to buy at West Coast because of the excellent customer service and wonderful products.

Just recently, I have bought some artificial plants for places that get no light. Each time, staff have very kindly added soil to the planters (to make the plant look more convincing), and “planted” the artificial plants, resulting in convincing and attractive planters.

Today, I purchased a small planter and artificial plant; Brenda recognized me and offered to take care of adding the soil, cutting the plant, and making it look finished. I was both surprised and thrilled, as I wasn’t expecting the offer.

The staff continue to be engaged with their customers, to listen to their customers’ needs, and to do all they can to make our experience a wonderful one.

I’m thrilled it’s spring, and I’m excited for a new planting season! Thanks, West Coast Staff! ♥️

A wonderful location with an always pleasant shopping experience and delightful vibe. Some really interesting varieties of plants and flowers all season long. It has become a go-to for purchasing seed starting trays and soils etc. (surprisingly many nurseries don’t sell these but this place does!)

Wow this place really is fantastic. My mother has been bragging about it for years and now I understand why. If you're looking for a high end Garden Centre with a big selection it cant get cant any better than West Coast Gardens. When I went in my first impression was that the selection and inventory was massive! And as a previous greenhouse operator myself I can say all of the plants are extremely healthy and lush. Ive been planning to purchase a couple unique but large hanging baskets for my new patio and I wanted something that would really make it pop. They had everything I could have possibly imagined and more. I really liked how the staff were so attentive and knowledgeable about all aspects of what I was looking for. Seriously...this is a dutch grower operation at their best. These guys really have it nailed. Oh yeah...Good job also on YouTube video It really helped!

I went in with high hopes. I buy a lot of stuff for my garden and have roughly 500 indoor plants, so was hopeful to have another place to buy that’s within an hours drive of my home. Looks great from outside, inside was as nice as it could be, but the prices were extremely high, like almost double or more on many things I’ve bought elsewhere recently at regular price.

Selection of indoor plants wasn’t very robust, I’ve seen big box stores with more selection. Walked past 6 to 8 staff and not a single person said hello, or even smiled.

Looking at the patio furniture, the look and feel of the place, and the seemingly snoooty attitude of the staff who didn’t seem at all friendly I’d guess it’s targeting rich housewives from Whiterock who don’t care if they overspend on their plant purchases.

I rarely walk out of a garden store without buying anything, and usually it’s 3-5 plants on any given day, but the 20 minutes I was there was 20 minutes too long and a 45 minute drive that was a waste. Better to spend the same time driving and head farther into the valley for better selection and prices.

It was my first visit to West Coast Gardens today. The staff was very friendly and they have a wide variety of plants, pots, home decor and other goodies for all your gardening needs. I could spend hours here!!!! It definitely won’t be my last visit!!! Highly recommend!

This beautiful place have a great selection of indoor and outdoor plants, gardening supplies, pots, soil, fertilizers, etc. They even sell clothes and handbags. The place is well organized. Great ambiance. Wonderful service. I love this place.
