We really enjoyed our tour with Jack and Jocelyn who told us all about the work they are doing. It was so neat to see the horses and learn more about the wild horse population in Alberta. We will tell our friends for sure, ignore the bad reviews and go check out this place!!!

This site is not a friend of the Alberta Wildie horses, instead they work in conjunction with groups that seek to permanently remove the wild horses from Alberta and replace them with rangeland cattle. An example of the lies they tell are that once wild horses are on private lands they are not allowed to moved back to crownland...that is blatantly false but serves their agenda of using wild horses as entertainment.

We were treated very well by Jack and Dan. My mother is 85 and just loved it! They helped us in and out of the covered wagon. We were made comfortable the whole time. We a had a beautiful afternoon. They answered all our questions and were very knowledgeable. .

They claim to have the best interests of the wild horses and speak of preservation. Sadly they’ve decided to participate in an annual wild horse makeover challenge.  They will be capturing and providing the wild horses. The horses they can't tame are put to death.
Capturing the wild horses separates them from the  band and sometimes the foals from their mother. And puts great stress on the horses.
And the government wants to do a contraceptive program when the horse population has been declining. Foals are lucky to make it 3 years.
Government doesn't understand if they would do a contraceptive program the impact it will have on other wildlife that unfortunately will kill and eat a foal, older horse etc. Wildlife can't get what they usually kill and eat start looking at areas that have what they want. Which could lead to civilization.
Plus those who think horses destroy the land need to go and look at the landscape in the areas they let cattle go to graze before the cattle are let on the land and after they are back at their ranches.
Shame on them! Such a disgrace!

They claim to have the best interests of the wild horses and speak of preservation but they round up wild horses for a competition.
The horses that aren't able to be captured and TAMED, are killed.
If you are looking for an actual wild horse society that CARES, try HAWS 💞

Disgusted in the front and faced this organization presents to the naive population.
It entraps wild horses and doesn't free them when they ‘accidentally’ leave gates open to lure stallions in. Shame on them..

Taking wild horses is not right ! They should be shut down ! What they have been doing is saying that the gate was "accidentally” closed behind a beautiful free stallion... I call bs ! Everyone should be asking them what they plan to do with Niko ! !!

This place is such a hidden gem! The location is about 15 min off Sundre, NOT in Olds. They have their mailing address in Olds and that's where we initially ended up.

We reached here about 5pm and it was when they were bringing all the horses into the stables for the night. So we got a first hand experience of the type of feed they're given and their daily routine. There were about 13 horses in all. There was also a 2 week old foal that was a delight to watch. The kids even got to lead a horse into the stable.

There is also a resident cat on the farm, along with 2 dogs named Max & Ruby. We fell in love with Max. My kids had the toughest time saying goodbye. He's the sweetest dog! He caught a mouse while we were there too!

This was hands down one of the nicest farms we've been too. It's run by 2 gentlemen named Jack & Bill. It runs purely on donations. The horses are all rescues. They're trained here and then adopted off to families.

If you're in the area (or not) this place is a must to visit!
