I've been a customer for a few years... always enjoyed the cafe and food.
Recently, the scones are baked at too high a temperature making the exterior darker, stiff and almost crunchy (?)
The white chocolate chips are heated to caramelize. Sometimes less fruit.
Looking forward to a return to the previously lovely scones...

The atmosphere/architecture were my favorite thing here, nice classic wooden open plan room.

The menu lacked vegan options but the Staff were happy to accommodate.

Unfortunately the food was both small in portion and left little impression.

Not the best place to eat, especially if you're vegan.

But it's a welcoming place and one of the only eateries open in Chemainus the day I was in town.

I'm glad it's there, but I think I would have enjoyed myself more elsewhere.

Lovely place with a large dog-friendly, excellent service and delicious food. My friend ordered a salad bowl, and it was huge.

Excellent coffee and great food options. There are meat, vegetarian, and vegan options for their daily homemade soups. Breakfast wraps made to order and are jammed with fresh ingredients.

Really nice patio outside for those excellent Island mornings and afternoons.

Note that they're closed on Fridays due to staff shortages.

We had a really delicious soup and cheesy scone today at the Willow Street Cafe.
I mentioned to Naomi that we had come out of an appointment to a flat tire.
She was amazing, she did some networking long story short a man named Ken who is a regular came to the rescue, took our keys went to our vehicle and got us up and running.
Doc the barber even offered to change the tire.
Chemainus what a GREAT community.
Thanks Naomi and Ken.😊

Pleasantly found this place open on a Monday. Got to try their breakfast wrap which was amazing! The ambiance is very nice with brick walls and industrial lights situated in a cute old cabin. We spent under $40 for two food options and drinks.
Highly recommend

This is my first time at the café and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised at the variety of food items available. I ordered the barbecue chicken wrap along with a pasta salad and I have to tell you the pasta salad was exceptionally delicious. They had a nice selection of scones, coffee‘s and other desserts. Inside of the café it was quaint, very spacious and bright.

Four of us had lunch on Mother's Day, I found it to be a rather limited menu. The Quesadilla was pretty good, the salad looked excellent and was consumed, as was the Quiche and the scone. The Squasage soup of the day was not a fav, could not tell if there was actually meat in it? Is this what the name meant?
I did not feel like meat so I ordered the Veggie Feast sandwich, the sign promising a veggie delight. It was neither a feast or much of a delight. Some spinach leaves, sliced tomato, something forgettable under the cheese slice (which they should have asked about, when someone orders a veggie sandwich it may mean they are vegan or vegetarian and don't eat cheese).
I must say I expected more veggies, maybe at least cucumber, some avocado perhaps, some sprouts, coleslaw, pickles, peppers, the list goes on. Unless they step up their game I would not recommend this sandwich, it was certainly not worth $16.95.
The accompanying pasta salad, however, was delicious.
Service was lackluster, They were busy but not THAT busy. And when I asked if they had refilled the water cooler, which ran out just before I got there, the waitress actually went inside, looked, they came out to tell me that they had. She was right there, she could have brought a glass of water out with her.
Nice to sit out on the patio, above the main street in Chemainus, and watch the people go by, but we will probably not be back any time soon.
