PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not get a puppy from this place, it’s a puppy mill, plain and simple! The heart break my family went through with the puppy that came from there was devastating! The little Havanese was burdened with so many health issues, it was heartbreaking. She passed at the young age of 6. The vet summed it up to poor breeding. Our family learned a very painful lesson. Please research your breeder, research the puppy to understand any issues that would be associated with the breed. Ask the breeder as many questions as you want, if you don’t feel you are getting the right answers or the breeder is being evasive consider that a red flag! Also, ask for records of health testing, any reputable breeder will be more than willing to answer your questions and show proof of health testing.

My Lab was five years old when she was diagnosed without Lymphoma . I don’t believe anyone breathing any animal would intentionally sale a sick one to anyone. My vet missed it until the day I took her in because she couldn’t stand up . She was a amazing pet . Breeding is a business that people get in to the AKC keep a very close eye on them and we as owners can order our dogs back ground. (Family tree) only Gods knows when a living animal will have Lymphoma . God may have been getting you ready for something that was going to happen in your life or home. I have never been told that I would not be able to take blood work before I paid for a dog . The breeder would not want to hurt the blood line because they know the pets become part of a family for years

I picked up my Havanese from Windy Meadows in Oct 2022 and he is the absolute most best amazing thing that had ever happened to me. Tom was so sweet and helpful when I was picking out my furry best friend. I’m so thankful for Windy Meadows for providing me with my best Bud.

I would not recommend getting a puppy from here. I had one positive experience years ago, but I believe the "business" has gone down hill. They take a $300 non-refundable deposit and they do not contact you when your deposited puppy is supposed to be born. Minimal communication from the business and they do not reach out to address recent concerns. A relative was given the round about a few years ago when she had made a deposit. I was told that only two male dogs were born after several attempts at contacting them. A friend was told the same excuse a month ago for another breed. When there is no available puppy and you are dissatisfied with the service, you should be able to get your money back. Don't risk your $300.

Just a glorified puppy mill. My brother and his fiancée have had nothing but health issues since they got their golden 5 years ago. The dog is constantly in agony from a number of health issues and had to have a knee replacement at just 2 years old.

I have a Golden Retriever from Windy Meadows. He is my boy and I love him so much, and he is forever a part of my family! However, I would NOT recommend getting a puppy from Windy Meadows, Hazy Hajers or Powerhouse Kennels (as they are the same family, and on the same property). Before my dog was 2 years old he was diagnosed with several genetic issues. From minor things like Allergies (allergy test revealed he’s allergic to varies things like spruce trees, and cats), to more severe issues like aggression (A golden’s number one trait is being so docile) and orthopaedic deformities. We spent a lot of time and effort training him and he still has issues with Barrier frustration, Resource Guarding, and on leash reactivity. My dog needed a surgery to correct is knee at 1.5years old and will need more surgeries In the future. These surgeries can only be done at the Speciality Centre. When we contacted Windy Meadows about the issues we were having we were told there is nothing they can do about it. We were well within the 2 year health guarantee. They were absolutely horrible to deal with after they had the money, and stopped all contact with us after we brought up our issues. They did not taking responsibility for his genetic issues. They also do NOT do health testing, which is evident if you search their kennel name on the OFA website. Their last testing were done on a dog that had long retired. They vaccinate their own puppies, none of them are vetted. They are far from a reputable breeder. Other people love them, and have gotten lucky to get perfectly fine dogs, however you shouldn’t need to gamble when spending a lot of money on a purebred dog. They are not listed on the Newfoundland All Breed Kennel Club, and do not have good standings in the Golden Retriever Club of Canada. I wouldn't ever regret him, I love him to death and he puts a smile on my face every day, but just knowing he will never have a solid quality of life breaks my heart. Do your research on Reputable Breeders. Your puppy will be with you for 10+ years. Puppy Farm is not a place to get a well bred dog.
