Two years ago they took excellent care of my childhood best friend who sadly passed due to an aggressive cancer and they treated her so perfectly and helped her cross the rainbow bridge with the least amount of pain possible and I will forever be grateful for to attention to detail in the gifts they gave after and how they cared for her. Just recently we adopted our newest baby through WBARC and they work closely together. My girl miss pickles is home with me now after her surgery today and they were so kind and sweet to her and took excellent care with my baby! I was given clear after care instructions and offered support of anything were to come up! I was able to change my pickup time to accommodate my schedule and you could tell she adored the staff there! So grateful for such an incredible team 🥰

Any time my pup has had to visit WBSAH, outside of routine checkups, he’s always been shown love and made to feel comfortable. The front staff is very warm and welcoming and the docs and techs very patiently answer the 100 questions I usually have following the appt. They’re also quite knowledgeable. WBSAH has also been very good at booking us in for an appt in a very timely manner. Every visit has been a great experience! 🙂

Not sure if it varies between animals, my cat was not sent home with pain medication after getting neutered. The lady who took him out to me was very short on words and not the happiest person, she didn’t explain anything on why Otis was not given pain medication. I asked if there was going to be any pain medication for him and the answer I got was “none for him”. She put the kennel on the floor and handed me the paperwork and said have a good day. I’m sure pet owners would like to see a little more compassion, care and empathy. Everyone else was amazing! Definitely would have given 5 stars if that ladies attitude was a little more positive.

From the moment I walked in with Bear to the moment we left, I felt welcomed, cared for and appreciated. I wish the wait times for an appointment weren’t so long but that is no reflection of the clinic.

This vet let my cat die because she couldn’t find 15 minutes in her day to take a look. Every morning i had to call and ask to have my cat put on the list if someone else cancelled and even though I had been waiting weeks for an appointment, I was behind anyone who called before me on a daily basis. In short, this veterinarian doesn’t care about your pet. She only cares about money and, wow, does she charge a lot for doing little. Just another greedy gouger in this over-expenive oil town.

2023 was a sad year for our household- losing our young kitten to FIP and our oldest dog at 16.5 years on Christmas Eve.
WBSAH made everything as easy and flawless as they possibly could in our decorating times of heartbreak. Thank you for doing all you do for the community. I know you all are overworked like crazy! But just know we see you and we appreciate everything you guys do! Thank you for being there for our hardest goodbyes and for everything in between.

Thank you to everyone who is always so kind with Texas. We appreciate the effort you put in to give her the best care possible.

My 13 year old collie has slowly been gaining health problems and Dr. Short is always so patient and treats her gently. She explains the options to me in an honest but caring and kind way. The techs and reception are lovely as well, and very open about costs, and willing to help when/where they can.

I would very much recommend WBSAH and will continue to take my dogs there.

We only have great things to say about our experience with the Wood Buffalo Small Animal Hospital! My husband and I have been taking our puppy, Mocha, to the WBSAH ever since we got her, and she has received nothing but the best care every time she’s there.

The communication with this hospital has been great! They have always been kind and have been respectful and courteous (even when we change our appointment dates multiple times -lol). Their PetDesk App has been great for reminders and scheduling, and I’ve always received a phone call before and after appointments. Since we got Mocha in the year 2020, Covid procedures had to be put in place. The WBSAH staff described to us in detail what we needed to do and what to expect before we even arrived.

The staff have always handled Mocha with care as if she were their own – never forcing her or being “rough” and always doing their best to make it a pleasant experience for her. We were so pleased and grateful to see that from the staff!

VACCINATIONS
When we took Mocha in for her first vaccinations, we were really nervous for her especially since (because of Covid) we couldn’t go in with her. To our joy, not only did the hospital staff guide us on how to make it a better experience for Mocha, but when she came out afterwards she was so happy and wanted to go back inside! Our second time getting vaccinations Mocha was more nervous to leave us than the first, and she even peed on multiple members of the staff, and they were all super kind and understanding about it.

SURGERY (SPAY)
Mocha’s surgery went SO well! The communication throughout the whole thing was exemplary. We were told and understood the risks before she went in, and they kept us updated as things progressed. We paid for extra blood-work and asked for the full results, and they happily gave us a copy of her FULL BLOODWORK – which was amazing! Her incision site was clean and we had no issues post-surgery. She barely even has a scar now – they did such a good job! They gave us all the post-surgery supplies and information we needed to properly care for her, and followed up with us by phone to make sure Mocha was doing well. They let us know they were always there if we had any concerns or questions and to just call in whenever we needed them.

PHONE CALLS & PRICING
I have called in to this hospital to receive information on things that have concerned me, and they have given me great advice and directed me on what I can try before needing to schedule and pay for an appointment. They have been SUPER up-front about what will cost me money and how much I will be charged. We have found their pricing to be completely reasonable for the services we are getting.

So thankful to have such an amazing animal hospital in town! Would recommend to anyone who loves their pet. Thank you WBSAH for all you’ve done for our puppy, and we will see you next time!
