Asked further a price check and the cashier refused and told me the price was as rung up.

After insisting twice, the cashier called someone who said it wasn’t her job and another person was called - at this point I just wanted to go.

The person who was called went and checked and confirmed the price I thought was correct but it was for a different flavour, the flavour I had didn’t have a price at all. I was required to pay the non sale price.

I was longing for a chain store where prices are listed and honoured. It was embarrassing and for nothing.

Carl's Independent Grocer is fine. The store is very small and hard to navigate. Parking isn't great at all, and product is fairly limited. Staff are always super friendly and helpful. The owner definitely does a good job with the space they have. This location works great if you're in a pinch, but for a larger grocery run I wouldn't suggest this location.

I couldn't live in Wolfville without Carl's. They have pretty much (98.5%) everything I need for whatever recipe I'm attempting. More so, if they don't, Liam will do his best to get it in! He has brought in at least 5 items I suggested! I love that it's small (but not for long) bc I know where everything is. Staff are helpful and friendly: Brian, Jasmine, Steve, Dawson, Goldie to mention a few. Not to mention the owner, Carl.
I absolutely enjoy going there everyday, often twice a day 🙂

How amazing is it to be able to ask Carl's in-house Butcher to cut your steaks for you, just as you need? We do.

Also, they brought back into regular stock, a full-fat yoghurt we missed from our old Loblaws. Great service.

So no surprise then since moving here 2 years ago from an out of province big City, we've found Carl's to be our go-to shop.

Very helpful & friendly... and not even a 5 minute walk from our house.

I appreciate Carl's Independent in Wolfville so much. Everyone who works there is super friendly and helpful and clearly very hardworking. They carry an excellent selection of products given how small the store is. It's easy to zip in and grab a few things quickly but it also supports my household shopping needs. On a few occasions they've been able to start carrying new products that I've requested and I think that's pretty cool as I'm not sure it would have happened at the bigger stores.
